Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 (12 oz) jar caramel topping

For the Coconut-Pecan Topping

  • 1 cup evaporated milk

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 egg yolks, beaten

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

  • 1½ cups shredded sweetened coconut

  • 1 cup chopped pecans

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Topping

  • 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (Cool Whip)

  • Optional: chocolate syrup drizzle, extra pecans or coconut

Instructions

Step 1: Bake the Cake

  1. Prepare cake mix according to box instructions in a 9×13” baking pan.

  2. Bake and remove from oven. Let cool for 10 minutes.
